The Latest Trades card on Inside The Capitol shows the newest congressional trades. A few quick filters help you narrow it down to the activity you care about, and the Top Performing Politicians card lets you jump straight to a member’s profile.
Step-by-step
- Open Research → Inside The Capitol.
- In Latest Trades, choose All, Buy, or Sell.
- Next to Party, choose Republican or Democrat to show only that party’s trades.
- Clear the party filter with the chip that appears above the list.
- Click a ticker to open it in Company Research, or a member to open their profile.
How it works
The buy or sell filter and the party filter combine, so you can view, for example, only Democratic sales. The party filter is part of the page address, so a filtered view can be bookmarked or shared. Links elsewhere in Ezana can also open the page already filtered by state.
The Top Performing Politicians card ranks members by estimated return on disclosed trades. Use its Year menu to pick a single year back to 2016, or all-time. Click a name to open that member’s profile.
Things to know
- Filtering by chamber, asset type, or trade size is not currently available in Latest Trades. Each row still shows the member’s chamber and the amount range.
- A free-text search box for members or tickers is not currently available on this page. To look up a ticker, open it in Company Research; to find a member, use the Latest Trades feed or the Top Performing Politicians card.
- Saved filter presets are not currently available.
Troubleshooting
- No results? Your filters may be too narrow. Switch back to All and clear the party chip.
- Filter stuck after following a link? Clear the chip above the list to remove a party or state filter.
- Top performers card empty? Early in a year there may be too little data; try the previous year.

A: No. On-page filters are separate from your notification settings.
Q: Can I see Independents only?
A: The party filter offers Republican and Democrat. Independent members still appear in the unfiltered feed.
