Congressional Trading
Interpreting Congressional Trade Data
Congressional disclosures report trades in value ranges (e.g., $15K-$50K), not exact amounts. The transaction date is when the trade was executed, while the filing date is when it was publicly disclosed — the gap between these dates is key.
Look for trades made close to committee hearings or legislative votes on related industries.
The 'Similar Traders' section on each politician's profile shows which other members of Congress have the most overlapping trading patterns, which can help identify coordinated or sector-focused trading.
