Congressional Trading

How Congressional Trading Data Works

Under the STOCK Act of 2012, members of Congress must publicly disclose stock, bond, and securities transactions exceeding $1,000 within 45 days.

These filings are submitted to the Clerk of the House or Secretary of the Senate and published as public records. Ezana aggregates these filings, parses the data into structured format, and makes it searchable and filterable on the Inside The Capitol page.

Each trade shows the politician's name, party, chamber, the stock traded, the transaction type (buy/sell), the estimated dollar range, and the filing date.
