Reporting and Blocking

2 min read

Ezana has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive members. Every community post, Echo comment, direct message and public profile has a menu that lets you report it to our team or block the member who wrote it.

Report something

  1. Open the … menu on the post, comment, message or profile.
  2. Choose Report.
  3. Pick the reason that fits best: spam, harassment or bullying, hate speech, sexual content, violence or threats, misleading information, illegal activity, or something else.
  4. Add any detail that helps us understand the problem (optional, up to 1,000 characters).
  5. Choose Send report.

Our team reviews every report. Content that several members report is hidden while we review it. We do not tell the author who reported them.

Block a member

  1. Open the … menu on anything the member posted, or on their profile.
  2. Choose Block user, then Block.

Once you block someone, their posts, comments and messages are hidden from you, and neither of you can send the other a direct message. They are not notified.

Things to know

  • One report per item: reporting the same post twice does not add weight. Reports from different members do.
  • What happens next: content that breaks the Community Guidelines is removed, and its author can be suspended.
  • Your own content: the menu does not offer Report or Block on your own posts or profile.
  • In danger? If someone threatens you or another person, contact local emergency services first, then report the content.

FAQ

Q: Can I unblock someone?

A: Yes. Unblocking restores their posts and comments in your views. You will need to follow each other again to message.

Q: Does blocking hide my posts from them?

A: Yes. A block works both ways for posts, comments and messages.
