Sending Messages to Other Investors

Messages lets you have private, one-on-one conversations with your friends on Ezana. A friend is someone you follow who also follows you back. It is a good place to swap research notes, talk through a trade idea, or check in with someone you met in the Community feed.

Step-by-step

1. Open Community from the top nav, then open Messages.
2. Click New above your conversation list.
3. Search your friends and pick one.
4. Type your message and send it. Messages can be up to 5,000 characters.
5. To reply to an existing thread, click it in your conversation list. Messages are grouped by day so long threads stay easy to scan.

How it works

• Realtime: new messages appear without refreshing, and you see a typing indicator while the other person writes.
• Read receipts: a double check mark shows once your message has been read.
• Online Now: the strip at the top of the conversation list shows which friends are currently online.
• All and Unread tabs: filter your conversation list to only threads with unread messages.
• Search: press ⌘ / (or Ctrl / on Windows) to jump to the search box. It searches conversation names and the text of your messages, and highlights matches.

Privacy

Messages are visible only to the two people in the conversation. They never appear in the Community feed or on your public profile.

Troubleshooting

• “You can only message friends”? Both of you need to follow each other first.
• Friend not in the New message list? Confirm they follow you back.
• Message too long? Split it into shorter messages under 5,000 characters.
• Can’t attach a file? Attachments are not currently available. The attach button is a placeholder.
• Search finds nothing? Try a shorter term.
