Watchlist price alerts tell you when a ticker on one of your lists moves 5% or more, up or down, from its previous close. They are turned on per list, when you create the list.
Step-by-step
- Open Watchlist from the top nav and click + New List.
- Name the list and add at least one ticker.
- Turn on Notify me on major price moves (±5%).
- Create the list. Alerts apply to every ticker on it.
- To also get alerts by email, open Settings, then Notifications, and turn on Price alerts. You can turn on Desktop notifications there too.
How it works
- While you have Ezana open, it checks quotes for tickers on alert-enabled lists about once a minute.
- When a ticker’s change from the previous close reaches 5% or more in either direction, an alert is added to your notifications bell in the navbar.
- You get at most one alert per ticker, per direction, per day, so a volatile stock will not flood your inbox.
Troubleshooting
- Alert never fired? Check the move was 5% or more from the previous close, and that the list was created with alerts on. Checks run only while an Ezana tab is open.
- Alerts work on one device but not another? The alert setting is stored in the browser where you created the list.
- Want a different threshold? Custom thresholds are not currently available. The threshold is fixed at 5%.
- Want to turn alerts off for a list? Changing the setting after creation is not currently available. Turn off the Price alerts email in Settings, then Notifications, to stop emails.
- Quiet hours? A quiet-hours schedule is not currently available.
