Paper portfolios exist only inside Ezana. They fill at the previous close, ignore slippage and commissions, and do not reflect real-world trading frictions. Paper performance is not indicative of real returns.

Data sources and timeliness

Market quotes shown in the app are typically delayed 15 minutes. Congressional trading data is sourced from public STOCK Act filings (via FMP). Filings can appear weeks or months after the trade occurred. Empire Rankings data is sourced primarily from the World Bank; dimensions are filled in over time as sources are added.

Brokerage relationships

Live trading on Ezana is executed by Alpaca Securities LLC, a FINRA-registered broker-dealer and SIPC member. Ezana Finance is not a broker-dealer. Account aggregation for read-only brokerage connections is provided by Plaid Inc.
