API Endpoints Reference

2 min read

This is a high-level map of what the Ezana API is designed to expose. The full reference, with request examples and the rollout changelog, lives on the Ezana API page. That page labels its response shapes as illustrative placeholders and marks several endpoints as coming soon, so treat this as orientation rather than a contract.

Endpoint groups

  • Congressional trading: disclosed trades by members of Congress.
  • Lobbying and influence: lobbying filings and related activity.
  • Campaign finance (FEC): contributions and committee data.
  • Government contracts: federal award data.
  • Prediction markets: market odds as a signal.
  • News engineering: structured news signals.
  • Market data and signals: reference and signal data.
  • Cross-dimensional signals and trend relationships: signals that combine datasets.

Partner earnings and copier data are not part of the API. Which groups your key can reach depends on the datasets and tier approved in your access request, so a key issued for congressional data will not return lobbying results unless that scope was granted.

How it works

  1. Request access from the Ezana API page and receive a scoped key once approved.
  2. Send the key as a bearer token in the Authorization header over HTTPS.
  3. Call endpoints under the versioned /v1 prefix.
  4. Read JSON responses, which are cursor-paginated.
  5. Watch the rate-limit headers on each response.

Conventions

  • Responses carry X-RateLimit-Limit, X-RateLimit-Remaining, and X-RateLimit-Reset headers.
  • Within a version, only additive changes are made. Breaking changes ship under a new version.
  • Plaintext HTTP requests are rejected.
  • Data is licensed for your own analysis and products, not wholesale redistribution.
  • Signals are informational, not investment advice.

Troubleshooting

  • 401. Check the header format and that the key is still active.
  • 429. You hit your tier’s rate limit. Wait for the reset time and slow down.
  • Endpoint missing. It may be marked coming soon on the API page.
